Dr. Musante Published in Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research

MD News

David Musante, MD, recently completed a retrospective study evaluating the fusion rate and pain levels one year after a lumbar spine surgery using a product called Trinity Evolution.  The findings were published in The Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research earlier this Spring.  Dr. Musante found that postoperative pain levels were significantly improved at 2 weeks, 3 months, and 12 months in comparison to pre-operative leg or back pain of the patients, who had all been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease, radiculopathy, stenosis, and decreased disc height prior to surgery.

This study was retrospective, so it was conducted by reviewing patient charts.  There are often prospective clinical trials at Triangle Orthopaedic Associates.  For more information on Orthopaedic and Rheumatologic Clinical Trials, please visit the Clinical Research page on our website.
