Please join us in welcoming Dr. Douglas Freels,MD, to our orthopaedic team!  He will be seeing patients at Wilson Ortho, a division of Triangle Orthopaedics.

Dr. Freels has extensive experience in orthopedic surgery and joint replacement patients having been in practice for over 18 years. This includes both primary hip, knee, and shoulder replacement patients including minimally-invasive joint replacement surgeries such as the “Oxford” partial knee replacement and the direct anterior approach for hip replacement surgery. He also has experience in the more complex joint replacement patients including infections, peri-prosthetic fractures, and revision joint replacement surgery.

Dr. Paul Kerner to be Team Orthopaedic Physician for USA Men’s U19 Lacrosse!

Paul J. Kerner, MD will be the Team Orthopedist for the U.S. Men’s Under-19 National Team for Lacrosse.  The team is in training for an eighth consecutive gold medal next summer at the 2016 FIL U19 Men’s World Lacrosse Championships in Coquitlam, British Columbia!Kerner

Dr. Kerner’s main interests are in Sports Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery of the foot, ankle, knee, and shoulder.  He has been active in youth lacrosse in the Triangle for years, coaching rec and club level teams, as well as the middle school team at Ravenscroft in 2015.

Dr. Kerner is dual fellowship trained in both Sports Medicine and Foot/Ankle surgery.  During his fellowship at The Insall Scott Kelly Institute (ISK) in New York, Dr. Kerner trained under the team physicians for the NY Yankees, NY Knicks, and the New Jersey Nets in all areas of knee and shoulder reconstruction. His fellowship in Foot and Ankle Reconstruction was completed at Brown University in Providence, RI.
